Coming Back to Badder Body
Whaddup, everybody! It’s ya girl, Acacia, from Badder Body! It’s been a while, and I’m writing this blog to let you know what to expect as I make my comeback.
A Little Backstory...
As many of you know, some unfortunate events with Seattle Restored and The Self Care Square nearly took me out of the game. The situation hurt me mentally, physically, and financially. Though I don’t want to dwell on it, I feel it’s important to provide context about where my head has been for the past year and a half. But I’ll spare the details unless necessary. Instead, I’ll focus on what’s ahead for Badder Body and me.
What’s Next for Badder Body?
Honestly, I’m not entirely sure! It’s been tough getting back into the groove, and I’m taking things one baby step at a time. Right now, Badder Body is in a strange hybrid state—financially, we’re back to where we started, but our status has grown. It feels like the beginning all over again, except now there’s demand and a higher standard to maintain, but fewer resources to make it all happen.
I poured everything into The Self Care Square, and when it crumbled, so did my ability to keep Badder Body going. I’ve been searching for ways to rebuild, but nothing has panned out enough to get the business back to where it was or where I envisioned it. Right now, it’s still a bit of a mystery.
The Return
The only thing I could do was show up. Nothing happened while I hid in bed all of 2023 or while I plotted and planned through 2024. So I set a date, and ready or not, here I am!
That said, I’m not coming back exactly as I imagined. I envisioned a portable version of The Self Care Square—popping up at markets with my Maker’s Studio, hosting sessions while selling our Baddie Bunch and Illlmaddik collections, staffed with a small team. I imagined booking Maker’s Studio sessions for private events like weddings, birthdays, and other special occasions. But right now, I’m working with what I have!
What I Do Have
- No more brick and mortar, no trailer at the Georgetown Trailer Park Mall.
- Limited time to pop up at markets, as I’m often solo with my little ones while events happen.
- But, I still have Shea Butter, oils, and most importantly, vision.
So, I’ll show up the same way I did the first time—starting from the ground up and building back.
Where You’ll Find Me
For now, I’ll be here virtually at badderbody.com, on Instagram, and eventually on TikTok. I’ll focus on growing a social media presence while preparing to be mobile again. Consistency might be spotty since I’m in school while running the business, but I’ll do my best to keep the most relevant updates flowing.
We’re working to bring our Body Butters back into rotation. It might be a bit rocky at first, but we plan for sales to help us reach a more consistent schedule and, hopefully, expansion over time.
Kicking Off with Presales!
We’re starting with presales as we make the last of our ingredients stretch. Join me for an Instagram Live Maker’s Session where I’ll share the story of how I got my special sweat rag while making the first wave of our website’s restock. You’ll be able to call dibs on your fragrance and size while hanging out with me and enjoying the story.
